At the beginning of the 17th century, a stronghold was built on the ruins of the ancient castle of the barbarian Arrigo to guard the valley of the Municipality of Perugia. It is on these walls that in the following centuries the manor house of the agricultural estate of Castel Rigone and Pian di Marte was planted. From then on this place, narrow and dark but inaccessible to the attacks of time, has been a farm with flourishing periods in which the Grand Master of the Knights usually stayed there who had become fond of a particular room and noblemen and counts of passage or holiday in Umbria.
Over the years there were many administrations and ups and downs until the management was entrusted (and we are in the 60s) to a young farmer with proven experience at the Castle of the Order of the Knights of Malta in Magione; this gentleman, a certain Aldo Pammelati, became so fond of this place that, when the owners decided to get rid of it, he organized the sale of the lands and farms but kept for himself the manor house that everyone now called "The Farm" and together with the industrious wife Lidia Castellani, and later to her children Gabriella and Roberto, transformed it into the Albergo Ristorante that you can still admire today.

Passignano, an ancient fishing village nestled between the blue of the Trasimeno waters and the green of the surrounding hills, is an authentic jewel. Its location makes it an almost obligatory passage between Umbria and Tuscany.
The surrounding area offers the possibility of trekking, horse riding and biking. The Rocca, probably of Lombard origin (V-VI century), with its breathtaking panorama is open to the public and used for exhibitions, concerts, theater, etc. At the Rocca there is the Museum of Boats.
Located in the hills to the north, the hamlet of Castel Rigone is one of those rare and happy natural combinations that make it particularly suitable for environmental and cultural tourism. The Sanctuary of Maria SS. dei Miracoli, a masterpiece of the Umbrian Renaissance, is a wonderful example.
